The Story
Eric, Johan, Ursula and Niklas were all skibums in Engelberg during the first years of this century. We were struck by the easily accessible, endless off piste areas and the charming atmosphere of the old monastery village. The thought of running our very own place for fellow mountain lovers has been with us since then.
In 2008, we discovered that two beautiful old houses were for sale in the heart of Engelberg. One of them had recently been renovated into a bed & breakfast, and the other was an old hotel in dier need of some renovation. We thought about it for a couple of weeks, quit our desk jobs and moved to the Alps, eager to learn how to run a hotel. Today Ski Lodge is two years young, we have learnt a lot about running hotels, and still have a million things we want to do that might make your stay more comfortable, tastier, funnier, quieter…simply better. The latest project is our new restaurant and a lobby area, projected in May 2010.
