Finally, there is a winter feeling in the village!
Normally there is winter a bit earlier in the village, but this fall was different. October was the new September and way to warm, the only good thing that came out of it was the long hikes and runs in the sun we could indulge. Therefore we were actually surprised about the last two days heavy snowfall. Not because it is unusual to get snow in the village in November, just because October was so warm. The aftermath of a warm October is that the ground frost between Trübsee 1800m and Stand 2200m didn’t get a vast grip on the grounds before now. Luckily the degrees slowly worked it’s way down in the end of last week and looks like it is going to keep fighting the warmth.
The Titlis Rotair and glacier slopes were open until the 5th (last sunday) and are now closed for maintenance until 17th of November. We are therefore enjoying a short break (a.k.a hitting the gym). The Titlis snowmaking hero (s) has, however, no time for breaks because they are preparing the slopes from Roetegg and all the way down to Trübsee as we speak. Last incoming news is that they are opening it up on Saturday 11th for skiing. Halleluhja!
