Engelberg Snow Report – 22nd March – New Snowfall & Conditions

Titlis Top in Speedy Pow, Engelberg

22.03.2026

Reported: 15th – 22nd of March

This week started off strong after the big snowfall at the end of last week. Thanks to the snow reaching all the way down to the village, Galtiberg and Grünenwald were skiable top to bottom, always a sign of a solid snow situation! During the week we were hit by some strong southerly winds, which left parts of the snowpack a bit wind affected. But the night between Friday and Saturday brought a fresh refill of fast, playful powder for us to enjoy. Looking ahead, it seems like another storm is on its way, and it looks like it could bring quite a bit of snow. Read the full report to see what this week has in store for us!

A new storm is rolling in!

On Wednesday, temperatures are expected to drop as the next storm rolls in. Current forecasts suggest that this system could favour the northern Alps, meaning Central Switzerland may once again see a good share of the snowfall.

The freezing level looks set to fall well below the valley, which could bring snow back to the village. Of course, forecasts can still change, but it’s definitely looking like winter isn’t ready to give up just yet. Sorry spring, you may have to wait a little longer.

Forecasts are forecasts, not promises – but it’s definitely looking interesting. As always in the mountains, things can change quickly… which is part of the fun, right?

Powder in the Easter Egg?

Looking a bit further into the weather forecasts, it seems like our run of snow luck might continue. The beginning of April – and Easter – is shaping up to be promising for those of you who haven’t planned your spring ski getaway just yet.

Our tip? Come hang out with us. If the snow keeps coming, we’ll happily ski powder together. And if not… we’re still a pretty great place to spend a few days, meeting the mountain community, enjoying long dinners, and having a beer or two in the sun on our Terrace. Sounds like a win-win situation if you ask us!:)
