Snow Report Engelberg – 29th of December – New Year New Snow!

Frosty Trees in Engelberg Ski Lodge Engelberg

29.12.2025

Reported: December 21st – 29th

All we wished for in last week’s report was snow… did we get any, you might ask? The answer is no, but instead, we were treated to some beautiful frost. Trees, rooftops, and pretty much everything in the village were covered in sparkling white, giving us some proper Christmas feelings over the holidays! Read the full report for the latest conditions, new year new snow, and all the fun activities we’ve got planned for the week ahead!

We’ve been stuck in classic inversion conditions, when a layer of warm air sits above cooler air near the ground, trapping cold air and fog in the valley. The result? Frosty, white trees down low and green ones higher up. Pretty cool to witness, even if it’s not exactly powder skiing.

On the dark side (Titlis), things have been hard and partly icy, while the sunny side (Brunni) has been delivering some really fun spring-style slush. Not all bad after all!

Christmas itself was wonderful and cozy, thanks to everyone who came and celebrated with us! And with the holidays come the crowds on the mountain. This is one of the few weeks of the year when you’ll actually experience lift lines. The Titlis valley station gets especially busy, with lots of non-skiers heading up to visit the glacier. Once you’re out on the mountain though, people spread out nicely, we’re lucky to have a lot of skiable terrain (when conditions allow).

Fonky Lovers Playing on new years
The Fonky Lovers!

From inside the Lodge

Music Quiz time! On Tuesday December 30th, we’re hosting our Music Quiz together with our friends The Fonky Lovers. Expect friendly competition, good tunes, and the chance to walk away with some serious bragging rights — and a bottle of prosecco. Gather your crew, warm up those music brains, and get ready for a fun night in our bar!

New Year’s Bash – The Fonky Lovers will help us ring in the new year, and if you’ve heard them DJ before, you already know it’s going to be a proper party. They’ll be playing from 22:00–02:00, so we’re keeping the bar open a little longer just for the sake of the party! So bring your friends, grab a drink, and let’s toast, dance, and slide into the new year together! We’re open as usual from 15:00, serving our bar food from 15:00-17:00. After that, we only serve our pre-booked New Year’s dinner!

Fridays are for After Ski – and this week, our bar is the place to be! Every Friday this winter, we bring in a DJ, serve up cold and hot drinks, and set the perfect vibe for the weekend. Swing by, meet the community, catch up with friends, and kick off your weekend the Ski Lodge way!

New Year New Snow!!

Looking at the weather forecast for the upcoming week, we’re getting a sunny start to the new year and then… can you see it?? Snow is on the way, and we’ve been waiting patiently for that! If you dare to look a little further ahead at the 14-day forecast (which you probably shouldn’t, unless you want to get your hopes up), there’s a whole week showing steady snowfall.

Let’s hope the weather gods (and the meteorologists) are right, and that we’ll soon be back to skiing delicious powder again!
