Let’s get into it – another snow report from Engelberg, March 17th.
Another week, another snow report! After a great stretch of fresh snowfall creating good skiing conditions, Engelberg is now once again heading into a drier period. Expect sunny days ahead, with a chance of new snow arriving at the end of the week. In the meantime, make sure to check out freerider Linn Olsson and her crew making the most of the recent powder days!

With low avalanche conditions, the entire resort is wide open for exploration. If you haven’t yet, this is the perfect time to dive into Engelberg’s Big 5 freeride routes – legendary descents that define the area’s off-piste experience. Here’s a quick rundown:
- Laub: The most famous off-piste run in Engelberg, featuring over 1,200 meters of vertical drop and wide-open powder fields. This run is ideal for experienced skiers looking for an adrenaline rush.
- Galtiberg: A massive 2,000-meter descent from the top of the Titlis Rotair down to the valley floor. Expect steep sections, deep powder, and a long, rewarding ride. PS – would keep an eye out for the snow conditions at the bottom here now, expect a long walk-out!
- Steinberg: A breathtaking glacier run starting at Klein Titlis, offering varied terrain from open fields to narrow couloirs. Skiers should be aware of crevasses and travel with proper gear.
- Sulz: Three different runs – Small, Middle, and Big – each with unique challenges. Middle is known for its cliff-jumping zones, while Big offers a mellow but rewarding ride.
- Steintäli/Wendelücke: Perfect for those who enjoy earning their turns. A short 250m climb leads to an epic 950m descent, making it a favorite among experienced freeriders. You can also cut into this area and just ski the bottom part of Wendelücke.
