Snow Report Engelberg – Much needed Powder days ahead? March 10th.

10.03.2025

After precisely 12 days, 4 hours, 23 minutes, and 37 seconds of waiting, the heavens have finally decided to grace us with a fresh coat of white. The latest weather reading from Trübsee (1,800m) confirms what every snow-hungry skier and boarder has been longing for—Engelberg is about to get a much-needed refill. And for that, we say: thank you, weather gods!

While the powder prophets remain tight-lipped about the exact centimetre count, there’s no doubt that a solid storm cycle is inbound. The Italian Alps might be hogging the lion’s share of this snowfall, but let’s not get greedy—we’ll take what we can get. Engelberg has seen its fair share of fickle forecasts, but this time, it looks like winter is making a proper comeback.

Meteoblue.com on – Trübsee – 1796m above sea level – Monday 10th of March.
“From Slovenia to the Simplon, the snow amounts in the lee areas are just at the alarm threshold, around 30-40 cm, with no major surprises. From the Simplon across the Turin Alps to the south, we expect 40-50 cm, and in the Sea Alps, I wouldn’t rule out up to 60 cm”, The oracle Lars Oelmann at PowderGuide.com.

EVENTS IN ENGELBERG THIS WEEK

TUESDAY 11TH QUIZZIN’ – During winter we host a Music quiz in the bar on Tuesday nights. Team up with a few buddies, have a couple of beers and some food and show the rest of town who knows the most about music trivia(and pretty much everything else in the world for that matter). The winning team gets a bottle of bubbly to share. And if thequizmaster for the night happens to be Jonas Engelin — aka DJ Tingeling — showing up is mandatory. Period.

WEDNESDAY 12TH of March Coworking space – WeMountain talk with Dominique Perret!

FREERIDE DAYS ENGELBERG March 13–16, 2025 March 13–16, 2025 – Experience and try out the latest gear from top brands and enhance your skills in workshops with professional riders and mountain guides. Book guides here!

Staff picks, tricks and tips from our house Magazine – Ski Lodge Bulletin

APRÈS FAVORITES – Nothing beats having cold drinks and a few laughs with friends after a big pow day on Titlis, and there’s no place better for that than our buzzing Bar. Here are a few classics, recommended by our skilled bar staff.

BRAUFRISCH – Unfiltered beer from the castle Feldschlösschen, two hours from Engelberg. The perfect companion to bragging about your cliff drops in Middle Sulz.

JACKSON HOLE – Whiskey and beer mixed into a tasty cocktail and served in a pint glass. We know what you’re thinking, but it’s like a whiskey sour only better. Try it once and you’ll be hooked.

SURFS UP – A seriously refreshing, non-alcoholic cocktail made with grapefruit, lime juice, maple syrup and soda.

KAFFESCHNAPPS – A Swiss classic — coffee laced with a healthy splash of either Kirsch (cherry liqueur) and Zwätschga (plum liqueur), or Träsch (apple or pear liqueur), a cube of sugar. It makes you warm and rosy after a long pow day so save it for the colder ones!

BEST BURGERS IN TOWN – Not to brag, but we like to think our bar burgers are the best in town by a long shot. Even then, every two weeks over winter we invite a friend to create his or her version of the perfect burger together with our chefs in the ski world’s most prestigious burger contest. Nothing is sacred — the burger can be traditional, vegan or pretty much anything in between. You’ll find the current entry on the chalkboard the bar as well as on our Social media. Don’t miss the chance to cast a vote for your favourite by eating one when you are here!

The next two weeks we have Chad Sayers hitting us with a Swiss-American fusion burger! The protein is beef, with Swiss gruére cheese, maple syrup barbecue sauce, maple bacon, pickled onion, tomato, and crisp lettuce and comes with the unbeatable combo of ketchup and fries. Sounds TASTY! 🍔
