Best Burger In Town x Ski Lodge Bar

Best Burger In Town x Ski Lodge Bar
The battle for the title “Best Burger in Town” will be launched 16th of January and will continue throughout April. The special burger will be available on the bar menu for two weeks each and the most sold contribution goes home as a winner. The invited chefs are local abilities living or raised in Engelberg and they all have one thing in common: they love to win.

Actually, it all started as a fun thing, just like everything else. Ski Lodge Bar and Konrad Brasserie have long been, and are famous for its tasty good food. Our guest chefs have been appreciated and enhanced the experience of Engelberg for new and recurrent guests. Our development on the Barfood front is really nothing more than an extension of what we already do well. When we started with the “Ski Lodge Original Burger” we didn’t think so much more about it, people like Burgers and we like people. John Forsell, kitchen mastermind in the meantime, sent a recipe for the best Burger bread he ever made to the Baker in the village and fetched Alp cheese from the local cheese supplier. It became a very good burger. In order not to stagnate completely, we feel crazy and safe enough to put our food baby in our friend’s competent hands.

Running for the Title:

Yves Hüsler – “The King” of Engelberg Mountain. He has done Galtiberg more times than you have been on your skis and will produce a “king burger” that will get you nostrils flare. Rumor has it there will be truffle…

Fabian Bösch – Slopestyle X-games Gold 2016 och Silver. Swiss skier that loves Swiss cheese and goes “full-on ham” both on his skis and his burger. This is a burger that will give you energy and keep you going on the mountain.

Marc Gisin – Swiss National team in Downhill and Local Hero. Another local that is a big fan of Swiss cheese and double burgers. To be so good at downhill it is important to keep your weight and fill up the calories, no light products in sight.

Mattias Hargin – Swedish national team in slalom and winner of the Kitzbuhel slalom 2015. Mattias has been in Engelberg for a long time now and loves good food. He has been somewhat secretive about his burger but tells us he finds his inspiration from both the high pulse of Stockholm and the High mountains in the Alps.

Tobias Granath – Local Mountainguide and former Ice hockey player. This guy is going to change things up a bit, the one and only vegetarian burger on the list. He is always out and about so you can be sure to walk away with a full stomach even though there is no red meat.

Oskar Enander – Photographer with more ski magazine covers than you can count the hair on your head. Oskar is very secretive and will not let go of any insight on his burgers content but one. There will be mayonnaise…

Each Burger will cost CHF 21 and be available for 2 weeks.
