August always starts up with a great festivity which is 1st of august a.k.a Switzerland’s national day. Every year the village gets into a frenzy on this special day. Everyone has a day off from work and is out on the streets with tents, pop up restaurants and bars.Whatever swiss traditional venture you want to join, they have it all. From food to alphorn, no exceptions. It is a great way to start the last month of summer and to see friends and family.
After this great start we put in another gear to finish the summer season with enrgy and purpose. Biking season is on and going strong up at jochpass, the zeilpark is always great fun and there is just so much to entertain. When we are in this last month one of our favourtite spots to take a break is visits to the monastery, something we often suggest to guests. It is just an astonishing architecture with a great history and peaceful aura. It is, as most religious places, a place to rest even if you are not even slightly religious. (And our religion stretches, at the most, to when it comes to praying for snow during winter)
Now we are starting to get a vibe for the upcoming winter, and preparations is in order.
