Crisp Mornings – Snow Report 5th Oct

Running Brunni, Ski Lodge Engelberg.

Well, hello and welcome back to sunny weather and autumn colors. After a full on September, we were just swiped straight into October and are still wondering where the heck this is going to lead us. September went fast, where did it go?

Normally, September is the best month of the year – and also the most dangerous to be frank. The warmth is still lingering in the air, the sun is shining and we have a summer-long confidence in our backs, both on our bikes and on hike missions. This being the perfect setup for injuries, of course! 2017 is no exception when it comes to injuries: people were flying left and right off the mountains again this year. What was not normal at all was that the weather didn’t seem to agree with us. Rain and snow were spotted and endured during, what feels like, the whole 30 days. Without exaggeration, it has been the WORST September ever, weather-wise. The only good to it is that the snow that came falling down over 2000m kept the glacier in tip-top condition for this weekend!

But it seems like Mother Nature has some kind of a conscience. Which is odd, because we have a feeling she got a couple of ups on mankind. Whatever the score is, she is now showing off beautiful weather until Friday. YAY!

Hope to see you up on the glacier this weekend! We will be there cruising the manchester for sure.
