7th October 2026
Engelberg ski season opening 2026 is making us wait a little longer in our little town. The season opening on TITLIS glacier is now planned to start on 24 October 2026, two weeks later than originally scheduled. A little more time for the glacier to get its corduroy combed, and for Joel at Stöckli to get our skis freshly serviced. We’re ready when the mountain is.

A different ride up, the same excitement
The 2026/27 Engelberg ski season opening 2026 will look a little different. The TITLIS Rotair is closed for maintenance until 11 December 2026, but don’t worry, there’s another way up.
The new TITLIS Connect cable car keeps the summit accessible during the closure, so the Rotair’s break won’t stop us chasing those first glacier turns. TITLIS remains accessible year-round, with glacier skiing scheduled to begin on 24 October, conditions permitting.
Our local tower joins some famous company
There’s news above the slopes, too. The TITLIS Tower has joined the World Federation of Great Towers, finding itself in the company of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Burj Khalifa in Dubai and Berlin’s iconic TV Tower.

Not bad for our little mountain town. With the tower now open to visitors, there’s another reason to make the trip up, whether you’re clicking into skis or simply taking in the views.

Planning your ski trip to Engelberg
Buying lift tickets? TITLIS uses dynamic pricing for ski day passes. Check the official ticket shop for prices on your chosen dates.
Coming for the first carve of the season? October and early November are about glacier skiing. The opening date doesn’t mean the whole ski area is ready, so expect a smaller selection of slopes and check conditions before travelling.
Looking for more terrain? More areas are scheduled to open from late November through December. Match your booking dates to the parts you want to ski, especially if you’re travelling with beginners or children. https://skilodgeengelberg.com/
For a weekend of first turns, one last bike ride or a few days watching Engelberg change seasons, we could be a great basecamp. Check our room availability and come join us as we get ready for winter.
