A Summer Worth Sticking Around For
Some people come to Engelberg for the mountains. Some come for the hiking, the trail running or the climbing. Some arrive for one night and accidentally stay for three. And in summer, there’s another reason to hang around a little longer. From live music and garden DJs to burgers, cornhole tournaments and long evenings with friends, our garden becomes the place where weekends seem to stretch just a little further.
Here’s what’s coming up in Engelberg
Staff Burger Mondays with Gusti Live
4 August & 7 September
Every month, one of our staff members gets the chance to create the next Ski Lodge burger. The recipes are submitted anonymously, voted on by the team and crowned the Burger of the Month. On the first Monday of every month, we celebrate the launch with live music by Gusti, great company and, naturally, burgers.
The best part? CHF 1 from every burger sold goes to a charity chosen by the burger creator.
Garden DJs
When the sun stays out, so do the DJs.
Saturday 8 August – Secret Rooftop Sessions (SRS)
An independent radio station from Baden run by DJs, record collectors and music lovers. Expect hand-picked funk, soul, disco, jazz-funk and soulful house. No adverts. No algorithms. Just exceptionally good music.

Garden Live
Some evenings simply deserve live music.
Throughout August and September we’re welcoming a handful of brilliant musicians to the Ski Lodge garden. Cold drinks, mountain air and live music – a combination that’s difficult to improve.
Friday 7 August
Extraño Veneno
Straight from Argentina via Spain, this energetic duo brings classics from Elvis, The Beatles, Dire Straits, Chuck Berry and plenty of Latin favourites guaranteed to get the garden moving.
Music starts at 19.00.
Friday 14 August & Friday 18 September
One of our favourite returning dj’s. Expect classic, singalongs and the sort of evening where “just one more song” becomes the unofficial plan. Super passionate about proper underground, preferring vinyl turntables over laptops & controllers.
The strive to always deliver a great party has gotten him on the same stages as artists like Mendo, Danny Howard, Adrian Lux, Joachim Garraud, Yvan Genkins, Phil Garner, Watermät, Charles Ramirez, Miguel Matoz, Timid Boy and more…

Friday 22 August & Friday 4 September
Clint Cheesewood
Clint Cheesewood is a vinyl DJ and record collector based in Engelberg who spins soulful grooves, disco, and feel-good favorites, Blues, folk, Americana and stories told through music. Perfect with a burger, a beer and the last of the evening sunshine.

Friday 28 August
DJ Swedish is a Swiss hip-hop DJ known for his boom-bap and funky breaks sets, performing in clubs like Rote Fabrik and Härterei. Good vibes, familiar tunes and the perfect soundtrack for a party-packed summer evening.

Saturday 29 August
ROB LOW & LYDIA
Expect an evening somewhere between a live concert and a sunset session, with Rob Low and Lydia. Rob Low (from Manchester) and Lydia (Ly Mavro, from Athens) are an-all vinyl DJ duo based in the Swiss DJ scene (frequently spinning in Zurich, Basel, and nearby venues like Kir Royal and Basso).

DJ Wanne @ennaw_
Ennaw is a music artist, DJ, and producer based in Bruges, Belgium, known for electronic genres like house, minimal, and techno. You can listen to tracks like “Nº1,” “Golden Hour In The Sun,” and “Getting Ready”.

Cornhole Championships
19 August & 23 September
Every champion starts somewhere. Sign-ups open from 16.00 before the tournament begins at 17.00.
Quick-fire matches decide the rankings before we work our way towards crowning the Ski Lodge Garden Champion. Play solo or bring a teammate. Glory, bragging rights and prizes await.

Summer at Ski Lodge isn’t just about what happens in the garden. Step outside our front door and you’ll find some of Switzerland’s finest trails, mountain races and unforgettable days in the hills.
Whether you’re chasing a podium or simply chasing the view, August is packed with reasons to lace up your trail shoes.
Engelberg Berglauf
Sunday 9 August 2026
One of Engelberg’s classic mountain races returns.
The Engelberg Berglauf takes runners from the village all the way up to Rugghubel SAC Hut, climbing 1,286 vertical metres over 9 km. If that’s a little ambitious, there’s also a shorter course starting from Ristis, covering 5.5 km with 690 metres of climbing.
With categories for juniors through to veterans, it’s a race for everyone who enjoys the uphill struggle.
Expect spectacular views, plenty of encouragement along the route and one very satisfying finish at 2,296 metres above sea level.
The race is also part of the Zentralschweizer Berglauf Challenge.

Run Through Trails Engelberg

If mountain running is your thing, this is one for the calendar. Run Through Trails showcases exactly why Engelberg has become one of Switzerland’s favourite trail running destinations.
Choose from several distances, from fast mountain adventures to big alpine challenges, all winding through spectacular scenery, immaculate singletrack and breathtaking mountain landscapes. Expect flowing forest trails, alpine lakes, steep climbs, rewarding descents and enough views to make you forget your legs are working overtime.
With over 500 km of trails surrounding Engelberg, there’s a reason runners keep coming back.
