Engelberg locals, tourists, and friends from the valley came up to ski last week! The pistes on the Glacier are up and running with a great finish, and a staggering 1000 m is skiable, IN OCTOBER! We are having a crazy good start to the season.
The snowpack is solid, the pistes are groomed and we could even take our skis down the piste “roetegg” and down to Stand station, on 2450 m. Without destoying our skis, we might add.
In addition, we had the pleasure of trying the not yet finished pistes all the way down to Trübsee on 1800m. This is not your normal pre-season conditions. We are blown away! (and not by the normal autumn storms this time 😉 ).
The video below was filmed on the glacier, with full glacier safety equipment on Sunday by Anton Thorin, skier Hugo Magnusson.
