The last week of January delivered! We were treated to multiple snowfalls (just like last week’s report promised), and to top it all off, an unexpected bluebird powder day on Saturday. What a way to wrap up January!
Down in the valley we picked up around 10 cm of fresh snow, while parts of the mountain saw up to 20 cm over the course of the week. These are the moments when we’re so happy our mountain is north-facing, keeping big lines like Laub, Steinberg, Sulz, and Galtiberg nicely protected from the warm sun.
Meanwhile, over on the sunny side in Brunni, we can officially report that bike season has already kicked off! So don’t be surprised if you find yourself at After Ski next to someone still wearing a bike helmet!:) And yes, even though our winter- and powder-loving hearts break a little when we see the low snow amounts in Brunni, it also brings a sense of hope. Hope, and the possibility to adapt and mix in a few of our other favourite sports. Around here, we just get creative and make the most of whatever the mountain gives us!
The first-ever FIS Freeride World Championships
On Febrary 3rd, 2026, freeride history will be made in Ordino Arcalís, Andorra, as the sport welcomes its first-ever FIS Freeride World Championships. For the first time, freeride skiing and snowboarding will officially crown FIS World Champions. Unlike the Freeride World Tour, which plays out over a full winter across multiple stops, this will be a single, all-or-nothing event. This marks a major new chapter for freeride!
And we will be screening it in our bar of course! Come by and we’ll witness the madness together. Crazy lines, wow-moments and cold beers can be promised! 15:00 in Our Ski Lodge Bar.
