Snow Report Engelberg – 21st of December, Christmas is coming!

Ski Lodge Engelberg, Engelberg Wether

21.12.2025

Reported: December 15th – 21st

The current weather and snow conditions haven’t exactly been what we wished for this Christmas. It’s been mild and dry – Santa, what did we do to deserve this? At 1023 m, a white Christmas in Engelberg is always a bit of luck, and this year is no exception. That said, even with the mild weather, there’s still snow in town. The cross-country tracks are busy, and while cross-country skiing might not be our first choice when it comes to skiing, the conditions out there actually look pretty prime!

While the weather gods (and Santa) seem to be ignoring us here in Engelberg, we’ve kept busy, decorating for Christmas and hosting events that bring the village together. We kicked off the season with our first Music Quiz on Tuesday and After Ski with Dj on Friday and also enjoyed an amazing Movie Night featuring ski films made by our friends, the perfect way to get into the winter spirit! Oh, and we’ve also been enjoying the festivities of the FIS World Cup in ski jumping, right here in town! This happens every year, we go, we get amazed by the loooong jumps and we drink way to many kafi zwetschgen! (usually we regret that last part)

Christmas Celebration with us at Ski Lodge Engelberg

We’re just a few days away from Christmas (yes we celebrate on the 24th), and oh boy, are we excited! As you know, we have Scandinavian roots, and during the holidays, the Swedish traditions hold strong. Disney’s Kalle’s Jul is mandatory at 15:00, shown in the bar, accompanied by ginger snaps, saffron buns, and glögg!

From 17:00, Brasserie Konrad opens for a traditional Christmas dinner. Chef Oscar, with a little help from his kitchen elves, will be serving all the classic favourites in a Swedish Christmas buffet: pickled herring, Janssons, beetroot salad, meatballs, cheese pie, kale salad, ham… and yes, the list goes on!

If you’re more in the mood for something casual, our bar menu runs from 16:00–20:00 – don’t worry, the kitchen elves know their way around burgers and fries too.

Yummy News on our Brasserie Konrad Menu

Winter’s here, and the full Konrad menu is finally on the table! We’ve mixed new, yummy creations with old favourites, from snacks and sides to hearty mains, sweet desserts, and of course, our “cut of the day.” Here are a few of our new favourites:

  • Coal-Kissed Black Angus Sirloin – Baked Egg Cream, White Fish Roe, Shallots, Chives
  • Gingerbread Sponge Cake – Brown Butter Custard, Lingonberry Sorbet
  • Swiss Trout Crudo – Fermented Beetroot, Dill, Chervil Root, Whey, Dill- and Pickle Chips
