Reported: January 19th – 25th
It’s been a stunning week here in Engelberg, as always, right? This valley never stops amazing us! While we haven’t had any new snowfall, the sun has been shining, and the conditions are still pretty sweet. Off-piste, the snow is compact and grippy, giving your legs a proper warm-up. It’s the kind of snow that feels almost like a well-prepared piste, just a little bumpier. The best part? Big Sulz and Steinberg are way less crowded than the pistes in Engstlen or Jochpass, giving you more space to carve your lines and enjoy the mountain!

Looking ahead, we’re expecting a snowfall to roll in at the beginning of the week, bringing a much-needed refill. Hopefully this forecast holds true, we’re really just itching to ski some fresh powder again!
Evening Ski Tour to Untertrübsee – A Wednesday Tradition
On Wednesdays, there’s a tradition of evening ski touring in Engelberg. We head out for a short ski tour up to one of our favourite mountain restaurants, Untertrübsee, run by Thomas and Sandra Wagner. Here, we settle in for a käseschnitte, a beer, and some good company. It’s a true meeting point where locals, young and old, come together for a cozy evening in the restaurant!
Make sure to give them a call and book a table for your evening adventure. This ski tour follows the home run up the mountain and is a short and sweet 250 meters of elevation gain, taking anywhere from 45 minutes to just over an hour, depending on your pace. We can really recommend this as a fun midweek evening adventure!

Best Burger in Town – Staff Edition Winner
We’ve counted the votes and found the winner of our staff burger challenge for summer and autumn, and wow, what a tasty ride it’s been! Together, we’ve donated 326 CHF to various charities, a win in itself!
And the champion is… Maja Persson! Her creation? A crispy panko-fried halloumi patty, lime & coriander smashed avocado, feta dressing, roasted corn, and jalapeño pickled red onion, served with fries and chili mayo on the side. A big congrats to Maja and huge thanks to everyone who joined in to eat well and do good!
