Snow Report Engelberg – 26th of April – One Last Taste of Powder?

last pow turn of the season?

26.04.2026

Reported: 20st – 26th of April

This week started off with a little refill, and it got us wondering… could these be the last cold turns of the season? With only a week of lift-accessed skiing left here in Engelberg, it might just be. But then again, April in the mountains has a way of surprising you when you least expect it. Read the full report as we take a look at the past week, what’s coming up, and how the closing weekend is shaping up!

Last Powder turn of the season?

This week kicked off with a small but very welcome refill, around 10 cm of that hail/styrofoam-looking snow the Swiss call graupel. Not the usual powder, but hey, it sprays pretty well for photos and we’re not complaining.

It also stayed surprisingly cold up high, almost mid-winter vibes at times. We had plenty of sunshine, but with a crisp wind keeping things fresh. Towards the end of the week, temperatures started to rise again, bringing more summer-like conditions back down in the village!

This is that time of year we really enjoy, start the day with a spring walk or a bike ride, then head up the mountain in the afternoon for a few soft, sunny spring laps once the snow has warmed up:)
