January got off to a slow start in terms of crowds, but the mountain has been buzzing with high-level skiing, thanks to the Freeride World Tour and visits from professional skiers. Last week, we had a fresh top-up of snow on Thursday and Friday, followed by a perfect bluebird powder day on Saturday, 11th January.

Now it’s Monday, the 13th, and we’re ready to kick off the week after two fantastic days of skiing. While the snow base still isn’t quite up to its usual levels, we’ve got a sunny week ahead. Not the ideal combination, if you ask us, but there’s something to be said for having the sun on your face while skiing : you can not have a bad day skiing if the sun is out. That “double-edged sword” metaphor? Turns out it works pretty well for skiing too—who would’ve thought?

Last week, we welcomed visitors from far and wide. Pro Skier Jacob Wester and his wife, Sofia Wester—a professional filmmaker and photographer—joined us on the 4th and stayed the entire week to get their fill of big-line skiing. Sofia also accepted our invitation to take part in “Best Burger in Town,” sharing her recipe with friends and our chefs.

Adding to the Swedish contingent, we also had Kristofer Turdell, Carl Regnér, Jenny Liljegren, and Johanna Sommarlund stop by. They were busy doing training laps in preparation for the Freeride World Tour, which kicks off on the 18th in Spain.
