Summer in Engelberg is simple in the best possible way. The mountains take care of the effort, the views take care of the motivation, and the rest of us just make sure you’re in the right place at the right time. We point you up the valley, up the trail, or up the lift, and when you come back down, there is always something good waiting for you in our garden a sauna or a cold beer – you decide!
It’s not about packing the days full. It’s about choosing well: a good climb, a good pause, and a good return.
Hiking Engelberg to Trübsee, trails & terrace time
Start in the village, where boots are still clean, and ambitions are high.
From here, head up towards Gerschnialp, either the easy way with the gondola or the “I earn my lunch on the uphill” way via the Pfaffenwand trail. Both end in the same conclusion: higher ground and better views – more info and details on the route HERE!

Continue towards Trübsee. This is the sweet spot. Alpine lake, wide views, space to breathe, and enough trail options to make you feel like you’ve done something fun without needing a rescue plan.
Then it’s down again, or at least down enough, and back to us. Terrace, cold beer, tired legs, good stories. No performance required.
