Christmas is around the corner – and so is the snow.
Last week was filled up to the rim with activities. The Ski Jumping World Cup held its annual competition in Engelberg, which took place on a brand new ski jump this year. During renovations in the fall it was upgraded to a world class night ski jump. The previous years they held the competition during the day, but this year, thanks to brand new light effects and other crazy attractions, it took place in the late afternoon and evening. There was a spectacular firework show on Saturday, just a couple of steps from our sauna and hot tub. (The guests of the Ski Lodge were in for a first row show without even putting on their pants.)
The result was not so uplifting for the Swiss locals, but luckily that did not interfere with their party spirit.

We had a blast all weekend – not just because of the World Cup but because we had the company of 17 female freeriders participating in the Shades of Winter Freeride camp. Even though they had to get creative because of the hard packed snow, they learned a lot and couldn’t stop smiling for three days straight! We were very happy to have them in our house and we must say that the future is looking pretty good for female athletes in the Freeride scene.
On Monday morning, 19.12.16, we got a sprinkle of snow on the side of our croissant, which hadn’t even been forecasted. Next week’s forecast is promising and we really hope that it is going come true. According to it, we are supposed to get some white gold for Christmas – and what could be a better gift than that? Exactly, it would be awesome!!!
Get your gear packed and ready because shit can go down any day now! Book your Winter Week package deal here, and remember to book at least one dinner for you and your friends at the Brasserie Konrad. You won’t be disappointed.
